Self catering caravan, Isle of Harris

An Caladh meaning :- rest place by the sea and this 2 bedroom Caravan is just that.

​

Situated in Ardhasaig in the Isle of Harris. Surrounded by mountains and hills, the views overlooking the sea toward Taransay and the West are stunning. The village of Tarbert is 2 miles away and right next door there is a filling station and off sales with groceries, crafts, coal & gas and free WiFi.

​

Accommodation comprises of a Living and Kitchen area, Twin bedroom, Double bedroom and Bathroom with shower. Towels & bedding are provided and gas and electricity are included.

​

The Caravan kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, electric heating and water heater. In the living area there is an Iron and ironing board, for your entertainment there are a few board games, a TV/DVD player and CD player/Radio. Unfortunately due to the location there is no analogue reception but you can bring DVDs or connect to your phone or laptop for downloaded content. There is mobile phone signal but not very strong at times. 

​

The double bedroom has a queen size bed, double wardrobe, vanity unit and hair dryer. The twin room has 2 single beds and one single wardrobe. The bathroom has a deep base shower which is heated by an electric water heater as is the wash hand basin and kitchen sink. 

​

There is dish washing liquid, cleaning products, hand wash, kitchen roll and toilet paper available for your use.   

​

There is a washing machine in the shed outside, clothes line and airers are provided. Ample parking at the front for 2 vehicles 

​

While you are here

There are many beaches to visit and plenty of walks with stunning views, when you are out and about you can find cafe's, restaurants, gallery's and shops so no need to worry about the rainy days. 

The village of Tarbert is 2 miles away and has a newsagents where you can get a coffee or ice cream to takeaway a general merchant who stocks just about everything you can think of. The grocer has it's own bakery an award winning butcher as well as off sales.

The Hotels, Cafes and burger van can satisfy your appetite for local produce and home bakes.

There is a garage for fuel or repairs, a hardware store for any fishing equipment you might need.

If you feel the need for indoor exercise the swimming pool and fitness suite might fit the bill and if you are just looking for some peace and quiet there is the library.

There are local Crafts and Harris Tweed shops including a regular indoor market at the community centre where you can find hand made in Harris products there is a charity shop and hair dresser and if you need to find out more there is the Tourist information centre.

There is also a Doctors surgery and Citizens advice bureau and last but not least, you must visit the Distillery and take the tour.
